The GLOBE Program

The GLOBE Program seeks “to promote the teaching and learning of science, enhance environmental literacy and stewardship, and promote scientific discovery.” It is a remarkable website that includes “a worldwide community of students, teachers, scientists, and citizens.” Not only can schools/classes, research or collect data with a GLOBE Program, but there are additional resources listed for both teachers and students. The teacher link includes workshop registrations, a teaching guide, resources (cloud chart, videos, training materials etc.), curriculum integration, classroom tools, learning standards, and more.

MME is a regional chapter of the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA). The organization includes teachers, informal educators, students, educational institutions, and others that work together to integrate marine studies into the school curricula. The website includes a variety of lesson plans that are based on the Massachusetts state standards. Additionally, the site contains links for the quarterly journal titled Flotsam and Jetsam, the MME calendar of events, teacher workshop opportunities, and a list of links for other marine educator organizations.
